How do you think the use of audio-any instruction will benefit teaching and learning? What do you think will be potential issues with the use of audio? How do you think it will impact your teaching and learning?
What do you think is helpful about using audio? How do you think it differs from using images and text?
Audio is good way of learning especially for auditory learner but it would not work for all the learners. Listening to podcast, history, story would be catchy and interesting with audio but when some is teaching ‘how to’ then using audio only is not that helpful. Learners will get lost in first few steps.
Some cases it would be helpful. Once a friend of mine bought new Samsung phone. I showed her how to put whether app on in home screen. She was using on her phone and mistakenly deleted that app. She couldn’t find figure out how to put it back. She called me and asked me. I told her to pinch the screen and above the home button, she can see wallpapers, widgets and home screen settings. I asked her to click on widgets and find the app. She understood what instruction I gave her on the phone. She knew what does pinching the screen mean, widgets mean so it was easy to teach.
Using audio for teaching and learning is different experience than using text n image. Learners just have to sit relax and listen. They do not have to read, concentrate and try to understand. I think audio only is good for classes like history or telling story or language class (how to pronounce).
