Week 6 – Blog
What is different about developing instruction with both images and text combined? Is it more efficient? Do you think about how you instruct someone differently? Are there limitations? Benefits? If so, what are they?
Developing instruction with images and text combined is comfortable and better than using text only or image only. I did not have to think of different creative ways to convey the right information. Graphics and images can be deceiving. Learners might get different information then it was intended or sometimes learners will not understand what the graphics is trying to say.
I usually teach my mom how to use phone or laptop. I send her pictures and instruction along with it. I would think that I did my best to describe her in details. Then she would call me and her question used to be, where will I go and find the thing that is on the 1st image. If a person is not familiar with the picture then sometimes text and image won’t be helpful.
